On 29th May 2023, Dawlish welcomed back Turn the Tide for a one-day festival that blended creativity, community and care for our oceans.
Families and festival-goers joined in with circus skills, art workshops, storytelling, poetry and mindful walks, while schools created colourful displays and sowed wildflower seeds. Expert speakers from Westcountry Rivers Trust and Shores of South Devon shared insights on protecting our waterways, and visitors explored stalls packed with local organisations and sustainability projects.
The day’s soundtrack came from a lively line-up of performers including Cask, Amy & Tobias, Lunabarge, Mama Tokus and headliner Rifka, with pop-up choirs and ukulele jams adding to the atmosphere. A fancy dress parade brought a splash of carnival colour before the celebrations rounded off with the evening Choral Tide concert.
