Turn the Tide returns to Dawlish Lawn on Saturday 10 July 2027 for its sixth annual festival, bringing together wildlife, music, creativity and community action for a free, family-friendly celebration of our natural environment.
This year's theme, The Giant of the Brook, tells the story of an ancient Devon water giant whose strength has been weakened by pollution, climate change and the loss of nature. Through storytelling, art and community creativity, we'll explore how we can help restore the giant's strength and protect the waterways and wildlife that make Dawlish special.
The festival will celebrate the importance of our local rivers, brook and coastal habitats, highlighting the wildlife that depends on them and the small actions we can all take to protect our environment.
Visitors can look forward to a day of environmental activities, creative experiences and opportunities to connect with local organisations and community groups.
Held annually in Dawlish, Devon, Turn the Tide is a free community festival focused on climate, creativity, nature and local action.
The full programme for Turn the Tide Festival 2027 will be published in June 2027. Check back for details of activities, workshops and entertainment.
Volunteer with us
There are plenty of ways to get involved with Turn the Tide!
We're looking for volunteers to help on the day, from running our information point and supporting activities to welcoming visitors and helping everyone enjoy the festival safely. We'll need help with setting up from around 8am, throughout the festival (10am–4pm), and with packing everything away afterwards. Whether you can spare an hour or stay for the whole day, we'd love your support!
We're also looking for longer-term volunteers to help plan the festival, contact local businesses and organise activities. Our core team meets every two weeks, and we'd love to welcome new people who want to get involved in bringing the festival together.
Support us as a business
We're also welcoming support from local businesses, whether through sponsorship, donating prizes, providing resources or helping us bring the festival to life.
If you'd like to volunteer or discuss how your business could support the festival, please contact us at info@turnthetidefestival.uk.
