About:
Throughout May 2026, Dawlish is bursting with colour as the first Wild Pollinator Trail brings together pollinator-friendly spaces from across the town.
From window boxes and hanging baskets to gardens, allotments and community spaces, the trail showcases how small actions can come together to make a big difference for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
Winners of the trail competition were announced at Turn the Tide Festival on Saturday 23 May 2026.
The Trail:
The Wild Pollinator Trail is now live, with locations across Dawlish to discover and enjoy throughout May.
Using the trail map, visitors can explore pollinator-friendly spaces created by local residents, businesses, organisations and community groups across the town.
Children taking part in the trail can search for hidden pollinator pictures displayed at participating shop windows.
Why?
Pollinators are essential to healthy ecosystems, thriving gardens and our food systems, but their habitats are under pressure.
The Wild Pollinator Trail highlights how simple, everyday planting can help create a more connected, wildlife-friendly Dawlish, while encouraging people of all ages to engage with nature and biodiversity in their local area.
Launch Event:
Thank you to everybody who joined us at the launch event on Saturday 9 May at The Strand Centre, Dawlish.
The event featured trail map pick-ups, seed bomb making, children’s activities, a live floristry demonstration from Caroline Gibbons, The Seaside Florist, and an insightful talk from Roxy Honey from Grow Greener Co-operative.
With thanks to the Seaside Florist for kindly providing wildflower seeds to participants.
