Keeping Dawlish Cool
About:
Feeling creative? We’re inviting artists and photographers of all ages to take part in this year’s Keeping Dawlish Cool competition, part of the Turn the Tide Festival 2026.
We’re looking for visual interpretations of staying cool in warm weather. That could be shady green spaces, time by the sea, an ice cream on a hot day, or anything that captures the feeling of keeping cool.
How to take part:
To enter, complete the online entry form and submit your artwork as a physical copy (A4 or smaller). Entries must have your name, email address and category clearly printed on the back.
You can submit your work either:
In person:
Please bring your entry to Turn the Tide Festival at Dawlish College on Saturday 23 May, between 10:30 - 11:30.
By post to:
Turn the Tide (Via Emma Nankervis), Manor House, Old Town Street, Dawlish, EX7 9AW (Entries must arrive by Wednesday 20 May 2026).
There is a £1 entry fee per piece, with all proceeds going to the Strand Centre.
Categories:
There are three categories: 10 years and under, 11 – 17 years, and 18+. You can submit up to two entries.
Exhibition and judging:
All entries will be displayed at the Turn the Tide Festival, where visitors will vote for their favourites. There will be a first, second and third place in each category, with prizes kindly provided by our sponsor, The Local Scoop.
Entries will then be exhibited at the Strand Centre, Dawlish from 1 – 14 June 2026.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or just getting started, we’d love to see your take on Keeping Dawlish Cool.
